Hdtv Projection Screen
will my xbox 360 “burn” a projection 52″inch hdtv if i buy one?
a guy at rex electronics said in order to paly video games on a big screen hdtv that it had to be ” slp ” or an lcd screen.. and if i used a projection screen the xbox would ruin it…is this true???
Rear projections and plasmas are subject to burn in (an to a lesser extent CRT & LCDs). Too bad the 50″+ LCDs are not cheap or that would be the best way to go.
The burn in time depends on the brightness settings and type of display. I heard it could be as short as 4 hours. The part that burns is the score bar, life meter, speedometer, anything that doesn’t change from time to time. Some of the newer games (some on the 360) has an option to move the fixed items off, but I would still be cautious.
All in all, once or twice would not damage it, but it probably would burn in if you only use it for games.
